Tootin Scrappin {a great egyption queen} {lol}

So the day has finally arrived where I can share, I have several layouts in this issue of Scrapbook inspirations and as usual the magazine is top notch!! Right now when you pop over to their blog, they have some  FREE digital stuff from designer digitals. They featured one of my layouts {country pup} on their blog a few weeks back and I did not even know it.
Here is one of my layouts in the magazine

I think that I may have to do a video tutorial for you all on how to make these leaves, it is so darn easy and the result has a little wow factor {or at least I think so}.
I have a ton of stuff to share over the next few days. 3 Scrappy boys just released there July kits and they are a wonderful mix of old and new style and the fresh and funky. This month I got to work with there add on kit. What I love most about this kit is how it inspired me to crack into some heritage photos and adventure into my almost non exsistent feminine side, such a very pretty kit.
Here is a sneak peak at what I did with it, I won't make you wait to long to see the rest but big things are happening on my blog and it is time for a summer face lift.

Hello Lola

Good Morning and what a lovely morning indeed. This is the face that I woke up to this morning, this is Lola our new kitten. We just brought her home last night and we just love her, the boys perhaps a little too much, Big hugs for tiny cat, not so good. However she has been fantastic and easy going and even our dog has been good with her. Oooooh can't wait to cat scrap!! LOL

Training Dragons

I love it when I find things that I forgot to post!! I did this layout a while back for a challenge over at 3Scrappy boys. It was all about creating your own embellishments, this is something that I love to do. It is inexpensive and completely unique for my pages. In this page I created the adorable paper pieced dragon. All I did was use google image and typed in "dragon clipart" I found this guy and printed him out on green cardstock and pattern paper. I then cut the wings and belly out of the green and adhered them to the patterned piece. For a little extra dimention, I used pop dots on the wings and used a little crystal laquer on the eyes. Other details include coloring the crystal laquer with my green copic, and coloring his nails with a silver pen.

Bring on the Sun

Oh I can feel the rays of sunshine on my face and it feels so good, it has been a wet winter and I am loving the last couple of days of warmth. For Fathers Day I took my dad and hubby and boys on an old steam train that travelled to a steam powered saw mill, it is a beautiful trip and simply a great way to spend an afternoon.
Plus there are some amazing places to take photos, I just love the white wash paint
and all the rusty things
I would love to go out there for an adult photo shoot it is just so cool!!
Also today is my last post over at Paper Poppy it has been awesome over there and there has been some fantastic inspiration. This week I tried to use a transparency , you'll have to let me know what you think, I had never used one before!

This was last weeks creation, {This was my favorite} It seems that I have a small love of ducks these days, they are just so cheerful.
Right now I am working on  a ton of really fun projects, getting ready for CHA summer. I hate not being able to share but I will as soon as I can. You can expect texture!!

Lunch

I have to laugh a little at the title of my page, it really is straight to the point. I love this photo of my boys sitting down to lunch with there mugs of juice and grown up expressions. I have no idea what they are talking about, but I find them so endearing. But for the life of me I could not think of  another title and so it is simply called Lunch.

My friend Kim inspired me here, she is the raw chipboard queen and I love the things she does with it. She inspired me so much that I ordered a collection of laser cut chipboard goodies from 3tails including this fantastic windmill. {love that burnt edge look}. Plus I love that you don't have to do anything to it at all. Easy techniques are my fave.

Not for the weak in spirit or poor of eyesight

I am one of those people who often finds herself saying " I can do that!" I was one of the kids who watched olympic figure skating and then said "I can do that" My mother would of course take me to the ice rink and giggle in the stands as I attempted to skate on one foot with my other in the air, and the hillarity ensued as I discovered the danger of toe picks. These failures have never really curbed my go to attitude when it comes to trying new things and so it continues into my crafting. After recieving my fabulous creations from My little bit of whimsy, I felt the need to give Fimo crafting a try, I had some of this stuff left over from christmas crafts with my kids. So I set out to create some {what I thought were} simple creatures. Here is the result. I really like them, but oh my goodness a women could go blind doing this. These little guys are no bigger than a nickel and took me about 4 hours to create. I am working with flecks of fimo smaller than a pinhead. I am in awe of Stephenies talent and I bow to her patience and eyesight.

My favorite is the duck maybe cause he was the easiest, so it was the first to get used in this layout with my beautiful neice. I love that I finally get to play with a few of the girly papers that I have picked up along the way.

It is a good looking Tuesday

Right now I feel like I am living in a rain forest. It is warm, a little humid with weird bursts of torrential downpour. It has made for some wonderful photos. Thought that I might share a few. We have been building the boys one of those huge playgrounds, I have wanted one for them for a long time now and we finally splurged and bought it. WARNING some assembly required…… Ha I have been working on it sporadically for 2 weeks and I still don’t have the holes for the climbing wall drilled……….. How ever I must admit the boys have loved the process. Every time we add a new element it renews there interest and their faces light up like it was Christmas.

Also it is my posting day again over at Paper Poppy this week it is inspiration week, so we were asked to create something based on the bright and cheerful work of Mary Englebreit. Pop over there to see my creations as well as what Aphra was inspired to do. Here is my layout from last weeks Sketch Challenge

Lastly, I love telling you all of my “good” mail. I ordered some seriously AWESOME scrappy goodness and am off to scrap with it right now. Hint: there’s a “ little bit of whimsy” in it.

A little playtime

This week with everything done at the old house, I abandoned the new house work and took the boys to fly a kite in the back yard. It was so marvelous, Tannin loved it and he was so good at the technique. I got these wonderful shots and after the kids went to bed, I further neglected the laundy and dishes to scrap.  I felt I had to use some of the approprietly named Go fly a kite collection by October Afternoon. I love these bright summery papers.

It was inspired by Cindy Tobey's layout, crocodile boy, on pg 85 of the new tips & tricks magazine {my layout, Aim High, is on pg 46}. It has been a long time since I used a magazine for inspiration, I spend so much time online these days, but it just felt good to curl up with the magazine and look for ideas.
